How long does paint correction take?
Plan on four to six hours for a full exterior detail with correction on a typical car in Manatee County. The wash and decontamination steps take time on their own, and polishing is done panel by panel. Heavily oxidized or badly swirled paint can push longer. We give you a realistic time estimate over the phone before we schedule.
Will polishing remove every scratch?
Not every one. If a scratch catches your fingernail, it has gone through the clear coat and polishing will improve how it looks without erasing it. Swirl marks, buffer trails, water spot etching, and light surface scratches usually come out completely. We inspect the paint in person and tell you honestly what will disappear and what will only improve.
How often should paint be corrected?
Correction removes a thin layer of clear coat, so it is not something to do every year. Most Manatee County vehicles need it once, then stay in shape with protection and proper washing. If your car is coated and washed correctly, you may never need a full correction again. Maintenance polishing is far lighter and can be repeated more safely.

Wash before you judge your paint

A lot of what looks like damage is bonded contamination sitting on top of the clear coat. Road film, sprinkler minerals, and rail dust all dull a finish without scratching it. We always decontaminate first and then re-inspect under lights, which sometimes means less correction is needed than the owner expected, and a lower price.
